4) Teach anger management
5) Promote proactive solutions
6) Promote acceptance
7) Reduce conflict in school

Program Objective: students will gain a better knowledge of how to control anger, reduce stress and search for a peaceful proactive solution. They will be able to understand how important it is that they stop, think before they react and apply the strategies given to prevent school violence build on good student characteristics.

A Conflict Resolution school assembly program that discusses anger management, respect, responsibility, good manners, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, honesty, character skills and success skills.

Program Synopsis:

To teach students how to get along by giving them tools and techniques that can help reduce school fighting, work through peer pressure and control anger. At the core of this successful elementary school educational conflict management program are tips and suggestions on how to improve listening and problem solving

Peking Duck opens the forty-five minute program with a brief definition of what the words Conflict and Resolution mean. In the course of the
conversation he realizes that the title of the program should be "It's Ok To Waddle Away." Richard reminds him of how they were in disagreement about
the title and how through the help of a mediator they were able to come to a
compromise. From this short skit, the students learn a little about mediation, compromise and some simple tools to help resolve conflict.

Minky the Monkey learns kindness, manners and how to use the time-out technique when a conflict situation arises. Students learn how to STOP, THINK BEFORE THEY REACT, when Richard shares a personal story of when he was young and how he made a positive choice to peacefully handle a kid who was constantly stealing his winter hat.

Students yell out loud when Richard's anger management drawing comes to life, demonstrating three easy tips of how to erase away their anger without creating conflict or hurting anyone.

Richard's big blue friend Ned finds out that losing your temper and throwing your friend's cat in the pond is no way to solve a problem. He learns that when we fail to STOP THINK BEFORE WE REACT, we create more conflict. Richard reminds him that he needs to remember to walk away. As an added bonus, two students help Richard to demonstrate respect and understanding. The upper elementary students get a special treat when two lucky teachers are dressed up as Dot and Com. Com becomes agitated with Dot for hanging out with Org and Edu and it is up to the students in the audience to mediate and offer suggestions on how they solve their conflict and bring the world wide web back to normal.
