program begins with Richard bringing his hands to life. His left
hand "Lefty" things that the right hand, "Righty"

Peking
Duck, with the help of a few teachers and students, re-tells the
classic Ugly Duckling story with a hilarious modern day twist. Everyone
learns to look beyond the ugly duckling
to see the swan.
Next Richard
demonstrates to the children how important diversity
is to our world. He explains that throughout history there have
been many who have overcome racial, physical, and cultural stereotypes
to create, invent and become valuable assets to our country and
the world. Pictures of famous historical figures come to life to
light-heartedly share some facts and information. |
 |
The
puppets, props, humor and thought-provoking information, help students
to think twice before making judgments or assumptions and reinforce
that diversity is not only cool, it is "ducky cool." |
"Diversity
comes in different shapes, sizes, colors, abilities, thoughts, cultures
and through interest and education there is understanding and with understanding
there is peace."
